About Me

Liz Kelly

I am a Colorado native and thanks to this, have been a nature lover as long as I can remember. I often draw inspiration for my flows from the beautiful world of nature - water, earth, air and fire, the moon, sun, stars, and from the four seasons. When I’m not on a yoga mat I love to hike, camp, paddle board, and snowboard with my husband and 4 year old daughter. I often find my child to be one of my greatest teachers and love to bring the playfulness, curiosity, enthusiasm and fresh perspectives she shows me onto the mat.

I also enjoy fashion, music, travel, books and the arts. I love to express myself through my outfits and collect unique pieces from all over the world. Music is another huge part of my life both on and off the mat - creating my playlists is one of my favorite parts of teaching. When I’m not playing yoga DJ, you might find me at Red Rocks or anywhere else that has live music.

Yoga became part of my life during college when I was experiencing some of the worst anxiety and depression of my life. From a young age I played sports and loved to be active, so I knew movement helped lift my spirits during my darkest and lowest times. I fell in love with yoga right away, because combined challenging physical work with intentional slowing, emptying, and focusing of the mind. It combined the endorphin rush of exercise with a serenity and gentleness that you don’t often find in any other form of exercise. I was in awe of the nurturing, accepting presence that the teachers created in the room and quickly knew that I wanted to learn to do the same.

Yoga Experience & Education

I am an RYT-200 certified instructor with 5 years of teaching experience in a variety of settings including large corporate studios, small locally owned studios, and at special events. I primarily teach Vinyasa and hot yoga, but am always expanding my knowledge base to be able to offer more to my students. I am currently working on a specialized training for prenatal yoga and plan to pursue restorative and yoga nidra trainings in the future.

Outside of yoga but also relevant to the physical practice, I have a healthcare background and have worked in direct patient care roles at both skilled nursing facilities and hospitals. This has given me a strong foundation of anatomy knowledge as well as specialized safety awareness in working with injuries, aging bodies, pregnant women, and children. Prior to starting my career in healthcare I certified as a medical assistant through Front Range Community College and earned my Bachelors Degree in Biology with a focus in Biomedical Science from Colorado State University.
